Genshin Impact 5.0 Characters
You’re probably wondering who you’ll meet in Genshin Impact 5.0. This patch brings three new faces to your roster, each with their own style and powers. Here’s a quick look at what makes them special:
Character Name |
Element (Vision) |
Weapon Type |
Role / Description |
---|---|---|---|
Mualani |
Hydro |
Catalyst |
Young guide of the People of the Springs, fun-loving, rides a shark-like saurian |
Kinich |
Dendro |
Claymore |
Saurian Hunter, strong and agile, uses grappling mechanics |
Kachina |
Geo |
Polearm |
Brave but shy girl, rides a drill-like saurian, excels at off-field damage |

Mualani
Mualani brings a splash of fun to your team. She controls Hydro and uses a Catalyst. You’ll see her riding a shark and marking enemies with her Elemental Skill. Her attacks scale with HP, so you don’t need to focus on Attack stats. When you use her Normal Attacks, she triggers Shark’s Bite, sending Hydro missiles at marked targets. Her Elemental Burst, Stormburst Shot, unleashes all her power at once, dealing big damage based on her Max HP. If you want to boost her even more, look for her signature weapon, Surfing Time.
Tip: Mualani is perfect if you love fast-paced Hydro attacks and want a character who feels fresh and energetic.
You can get Mualani from the Event Wish Phase 1 Banner in Genshin Impact 5.0. She’s a featured 5-star character, so you’ll need to use the Wish system. The pity system helps you out if you don’t get her right away. You can also use Intertwined Fates and primogems from anniversary rewards to increase your chances.
Kinich
Kinich stands out as a Dendro Claymore user. He’s part of the Saurian Hunters and uses grappling moves to swing through trees and attack enemies. His Elemental Skill lets him grapple onto foes and shoot Loop Shots, stacking Nightsoul points. When you max out these points, you unlock Scalespiker Cannon for a powerful Dendro attack. His Elemental Burst calls Ajaw, who deals AoE Dendro damage over time. Kinich’s signature weapon, Fang of the Mountain King, boosts his Critical Rate and skill damage.
Note: Kinich works well in teams that need strong Dendro support and creative movement options.
You’ll find Kinich in the Event Wish Phase 2 Banner, sharing the spotlight with Raiden Shogun. The banner uses the standard pity system, and you have a 50% chance to get Kinich on your first 5-star pull. You can use primogems and Intertwined Fates to wish for him. His banner doesn’t include 5-star weapons, so focus on character pulls.
Kachina
Kachina is a 4-star Geo character who wields a Polearm. She’s a member of the Children of Echoes and rides a drill-like saurian. Her Elemental Skill summons Turbo Twirly, putting her in the Nightsoul Blessing state. You can mount Turbo Twirly for on-field damage or leave it for off-field attacks. Her Elemental Burst creates a Turbo Drill field, boosting Turbo Twirly’s damage and movement speed.
If you want a sub-DPS who can deal damage while off-field, Kachina is a great pick. She’s also easy to build with her best weapon, Footprint of the Rainbow.
You get Kachina for free during the Genshin Impact 5.0 update. She’s also available as a 4-star on both Event Wish banners. You can earn her by completing quests or participating in permanent events like Fate Foretold and Baptism of Song.
How to Obtain New Characters in Genshin Impact 5.0:

Use the Wish system on Event Banners for Mualani (Phase 1) and Kinich (Phase 2).
